Un matin is part of a new series by Ugo Sébastiaõ, the 'Black Paintings'.
The aim of this series is to create a black glaze that will not dull the canvas like a direct application of black pigment, while at the same time remaining transparent.
The anachronistic image then becomes hybrid, ambiguous, echoing the visual aspect of a VHS or the irregularities of a scan.
